Several members of our organization have written to the leadership team of Canadian Guidelines for Post COVID-19 Condition (CAN-PCC) to voice deep concern with one of the organization’s Draft recommendations in their November survey.
CAN-PCC’s purpose is to provide easily accessible and high-quality guidelines on Post Covid Condition (commonly known as long Covid), and to facilitate the use of these guidelines in different settings. To date, they have produced many excellent recommendations.
However, in the November survey, Draft Recommendation #2 suggested exercise in adults with acute COVID-19 infection to prevent Post Covid Condition—and this caused considerable alarm in the long Covid community due to the potential risk.
As such, we wrote to CAN-PCC’s leadership team to outline our concerns and questions regarding how they came to this recommendation.
